We are changing our working week in the UAE
The UAE Government’s decision to align the working week and weekend to international markets is an important change which we believe will have a positive impact on the economy, our people, customers and business.
HSBC UAE will align to that change and adopt a Monday to Friday working week, with the weekend designated as Saturday and Sunday, with effect from Monday, 3 January 2022.
Our branches in the UAE will continue to open six days a week, in accordance with the guidance of the Central Bank of the UAE, and the day of closure moves from Friday to Sunday. Branches will close at 12.30pm on Fridays, while our head office will operate as usual and staff will have the flexibility to take two hours out to attend to personal matters, including prayer.
In line with the guidance from the UAE Central Bank, clearing and settlement will be provided on all days of the week except Sundays.
Our digital banking services including HSBC Mobile Banking app, HSBC Online Banking, HSBCnet, HSBCConnect, digital Trade Working Capital, Global Money Account, LiveSign and Zoom video-conferencing will continue to help you bank with us safely, securely and flexibly from wherever you want, whenever you want.
This is a significant change for all of us and we are consistently engaged with the authorities on its impact on banking processes. We will continue to review how these changes are working for you and adapt where necessary.
For any questions about the impact of the new working week on your banking needs, please contact your Relationship Manager, or reach out to us through live chat on HSBC Mobile and Online Banking, or via our call centre. You can also refer to our Customer FAQs here.
